dr batniniAmine Batnini is a plant pathologist and molecular biologist whose work brings together genetics, genomics, and crop disease research. He has contributed to research on plant resistance mechanisms and the genetic basis of host responses to important pathogens, with particular experience in soybean–Phytophthora sojae interactions and disease-resistance mapping. His background also spans molecular marker analysis and plant genetic diversity studies across crop systems.

Batnini’s research centers asa pathology & trait discovery leader on the molecular and genetic dissection of disease resistance in crops, especially the identification of resistance loci, the use of genomics-enabled approaches for pathogen response studies, and the application of molecular tools to crop improvement. More broadly, his work sits at the intersection of plant pathology, quantitative genetics, and applied agricultural research aimed at supporting more resilient cropping systems.
